This article is about how the weather in Málaga caused a 51 car pile up! WOW. It happened in the San José tunnel of the A-7 at 1420. This massive pile up happened Saturday during heavy rain at 1420 in the San José tunnel in Málaga, and left 12 people injured. Of the 12 injuries, only 3 people needed hospital treatments. There are no reports of death due to the pile up. A-7 n the area of Ciudad Jardín to the north of the city. The massive pile up was caused initially by a lorry which hit a post, spreading petrol over the carriageways in both directions and turning it into a skating rink. The lorry was travelling direction Fuengirola, and other traffic in that direction was able to slowly pass it for a time, but drivers rubber necking at speed on the other carriageway soon caused a multiple accident direction Almería. The crash caused huge hold ups and traffic was diverted into the city centre for the afternoon and evening as the road was closed and finally cleared at 10pm.
